Archiving: Cloud Data Service sends WSI files to an SMB share exposed by the AWS File Gateway. Files are asynchronously uploaded to Amazon S3 and transitioned automatically to lower-cost storage tiers.

Retrieval: Upon request, the Archive Broker checks file availability and triggers a restore if needed, then the IMS retrieves the case to Tier-1/Tier-2 storage for viewing.*
